As
the world over it seems, you can play golf in the most unlikely
of places.
A
game that was invented in Scotland with a frequently
uncomfortable climate in terms of rain and temperature so
promoting the growth of lush and verdant grass is transferred to
somewhere that does not support the growth of grass at all
without the addition of vast amounts of desalinated sea-water at
considerable environmental cost.
This
is my son having a golf lesson on a lush green in what should be
desert. His coach was the epitome of charm and professionalism
itself, but I have this huge nagging problem that I was
condoning here what I should have been condemning.
