Now that is a solid lump of rocks. When you're up close and personal, you can well believe that the pyramids have stood as they do for many thousands of years (about 4,600) without being affected by time. They ain't goin' nowhere!

According to Herodotus (5th century BC Greek historian) the great pyramid was built over 20 years by 100,000 men working in three monthly shifts. The shape of the pyramid had religious significance for ancient Egyptians as it was the 3-dimensional stone representation of the suns rays.
