The
trip out is usually 1-2 hours before you get somewhere and a
good way to pass this is to stand at the front looking for what
you can see and bouncing up and down with the waves.
The
disturbance in the sea to the right of the boy in the yellow
t-shirt in this picture is a small shoal of flying fish. I've
been on trips like this and been almost constantly accompanied
by flying fish and others where I haven't seen any at all. Just
remember to cover up and plaster yourself (and especially the
kids) with copious amounts of high factor sunscreen, the breeze
in particular can fool you into thinking the sun isn't as strong
as it is. This is Egypt in August (in this case) the sun just
doesn't get much stronger than this!
