Great Pyramid, Giza - Egypt

Thumbnail pages:  Pyramids | Sphinx | Sharm el Sheikh | Tourist stuff

That's my son and I in the middle looking at the camera, it's incredibly hot at the pyramids in August (when we were there) there's no shade and the rock reflects the sun's heat and light. There are plenty of tourists about, but not enough to feel crowded or stop you doing what you want or going where you want to go.

This is the great pyramid of Cheops, you can go into it, but there are a limited number of tickets available each day and you have to be there early to queue.

While the pyramids are incredibly impressive and astonishingly intact after so many thousands of years, I can't say I had any kind of "spiritual" experience there - impressive yes, ethereal - no.
