When
you see pictures of the pyramids, it seems that they are
isolated miles from anywhere, however in reality, they are on
the outskirts of modern-day Giza and Cairo, in fact they were never very
far from the center of the capital city. Point in one direction
and you get a picture of an ancient view, pyramids and desert,
face the other way however and you get this image - a modern
city stretching nearly to the pyramids themselves.
